1979
Thierry Maissant established Major Sports in 1979.
Major became the first company to develop a systematic progression of tennis racquets designed for children.

1980
Major Sports developed the Tecnifibre string. This was a landmark event in the development of stringing technology.
Mr. Robin, a chemical engineer, developed the concept with Cousin Freres, the industrial partner, and Major Sports.
This was the beginning of the successful partnership between Major Sports and Cousin Freres that continues to this day.

1982
Ion Tiriac, the first technical consultant for Tecnifibre, worked in cooperation with Major Sports for 2 years.
The Argentine player Jose Luis Clerc, with an ATP ranking of 4, was the first of many top professionals to play with Tecnifibre strings.

1985
Major Sports undertakes the worldwide distribution of stringing machines, manufactured by the company Spenle Pizzera in Villeurbanne, France.

1988
This year saw the beginning of the successful partnership between Major Sports and the French Tennis Federation (FFT).
Tecnifibre provided official stringing services to the French Open, as well as the Paris-Bercy indoor tournament in this year,
as it has done in every year since.

1990
The first Grand Slam title for Tecnifibre came with Monica Seles' victory in the French Open.
This was the first of many Grand Slam titles for Tecnifibre.

1995
Major Sports undertakes the worldwide distribution of Roland Garros tennis balls.

1999
Tecnifibre is rated the number 1 synthetic string by the United States Racket Stringers Association (string survey).

2000
Major Sports purchased the tennis ball factory located in Thailand and forms the company MSp.
The production capacity of MSp is approximately 1 million dozen balls per year.

2001
Thierry Lincou signs a sponsorship contract with Tecnifibre.
Thierry plays with Tecnifibre racquets and strings.

2003
The launch of the first ever Tecnifibre tennis racquets range, as well as the first Tecnifibre tennis balls range.

2005
This year proves to be the most successful ever for Tecnifibre, and for Tecnifibre sponsored players.
In squash, Thierry Lincou dominates the field, maintaining the coveted PSA world number 1 ranking spot for the whole of 2005.
Vanessa Atkinson does the same in the WISPA women's world rankings.
In tennis, rising star Fernando Verdasco has a breakthrough year, achieving a career-best ATP ranking of 31,
reaching the final of the Kitzbuhel tournament and the semifinals in St. Petersburg. Verdasco plays with the T-Fight 325 racquet.
Wesley Moodie, another T-Fight 325 player, defeats Mario Ancic to win the ATP Tokyo title in October.
